A tour from your downtown hotels north through the prairie lands to the town of Sundre, then west up into the the foothills where you will observe Alberta’s Wild Horse herds. This is a wonderful photo opportunity, viewing these superb wild horses in their natural habitat. See the stallions standing guard over their mares and foals. See the young stallions off to the side waiting for a herd of their own. Have a picnic lunch provided by the kitchen of the Wild Wild West (included in tour cost, extra charge for special requests). Next we go to the historic Town of Cochrane, with a visit to the Cochrane Ranche, and then on to the Wild Wild West Event Centre for a “Taste of the Land “ eating experience (at extra cost) featuring locally produced beef, bison, pork, and not so local salmon and sides.
Or choose from our standard delicious menu fare in our Louisiette’s Saloon and Bar, for guests who prefer this choice. Kids are welcome.
A Taste of the Land menu and costs available on request.
a Wild horse experience
Truly a memorable experience, “A Day in the Wild West” tours cattle ranching country, through the hamlet of Bragg Creek for a rest stop, then a visit to a beautiful mountain waterfall along the Elbow River Valley. Observe a large buffalo herd grazing on Alberta grasslands, as they did 100 years ago. Take some photos of these magnificent animals, then off to a 19th Century Ranch and western movie set, where stars like Robert Duvall, Brad Pitt, and Jackie Chan were filmed.
Then it’s back to the Wild Wild West Event Centre for “A Taste of the Land” eating experience (at extra cost) featuring locally produced beef, bison, pork, and not so local salmon and sides.
Or choose from our standard delicious menu fare in our Louisiette’s Saloon and Bar, for guests who prefer this choice.
